Net worth trackers compared
Thallo is a net worth tracker for everything you own and owe. You add each account once, whether it's a bank account, a pension abroad, a flat or a car loan, each in its own currency. Thallo then shows the total in the currency you choose, how it's changing and what caused each change. The other tools on this page overlap with that, and most of them also do things Thallo doesn't, such as syncing with your bank, following every share you own, or budgeting.
We checked each tool against its company's website on 5 November 2026, and the notes further down say who each one suits.

What you get with Thallo
There are 14 account types, from cash, brokerage, pension and crypto to property, vehicles, art, loans, mortgages and credit cards. Each account keeps its own currency, and Thallo converts everything at daily exchange rates into a display currency you can change whenever you like.
The overview opens with your net worth and the change since the last month-end, with a 12-month line below it. You can split the total by category (Liquid; Illiquid, trackable; Illiquid, estimated; and Debt) or by currency. It also shows your liquid net worth, meaning your liquid accounts minus your debt, along with the liquid share of your assets and your debt compared with your assets.
What moved compares any two dates and separates the part of the change that came from exchange rates from the part that came from your balances. For example, your display currency might be EUR and you might have GBP 20,000 in savings. If the balance doesn't change all month but the pound slips from EUR 1.17 to EUR 1.15, What moved shows the EUR 400 drop as currency effect. (Illustrative numbers.)
You update your balances on one screen, which is easy to use on a phone, and you decide how often each account needs a new number. The overview shows how much of the total is up to date, for example 84%. Signals, which are on unless you switch them off, give you a weekly list of a few things worth a look, like an exchange rate move that cost you money or a car value you haven't touched in a year.
Since you type in the balances, Thallo never needs your bank login. It doesn't track individual stocks, budgets or transactions.
Which kind of tool you need
If you mainly want to know how your investments have done, you need a holdings tracker. Sharesight is built for that, and Kubera and Finary do it too, alongside net worth.
If you want to see where your money went this month, you need a budgeting app such as Monarch, Empower or Finary Plus.
If you want the total of everything you own and why it changed, you want a net worth tracker. Kubera, a spreadsheet and Thallo all focus on that.
Accounts in other countries and currencies
Empower links only US institutions in US dollars, and Monarch's home and car valuations are for US members. If your accounts are in several countries, you'll probably add many of them by hand in any of these apps.
For currencies, Monarch doesn't convert between them, Finary shows the whole account in one of six display currencies, and Kubera and Sharesight handle many.
Notes on each tool
Kubera
Kubera is the closest to Thallo, as both are balance sheets without a budget. It does more of the work of collecting numbers, because it links banks and brokers through several aggregators, values your home by address and your car by model and year, and follows stocks by ticker. You can also run it entirely by hand. It costs USD 250 a year. Thallo vs Kubera
A spreadsheet
A spreadsheet is free and private, and it does whatever you build it to do. You also have to keep it up to date yourself, including the exchange rates. Thallo vs a spreadsheet
Empower Personal Dashboard
Empower's free dashboard syncs US banks and brokers and adds budgeting, portfolio analysis and a retirement planner. Accounts outside the US have to be added by hand. Thallo vs Empower
Monarch Money
Monarch is a budgeting app that also tracks net worth and investments. Its help centre says it does no currency conversion, so CAD 10,000 plus USD 10,000 shows as $20,000. Thallo vs Monarch Money
Sharesight
Sharesight is for investors who want to know how each holding did, with returns split into capital gains, dividends and currency, plus tax reports. Some people use Sharesight for their portfolio and Thallo for everything else, entering the portfolio's value as one account. Thallo vs Sharesight
Finary
Finary is a wealth app priced in euros, with a free plan and more features than anything else on this page. It says it connects to 20,000 banks and brokerage platforms, and it has a dividend tracker, budgets, a fee scanner and investing through the app. Thallo vs Finary
Thallo is free during early access, and adding your first accounts takes a few minutes.
