Thallo vs Sharesight
Sharesight and Thallo do different jobs. Sharesight follows your shares one by one, down to each trade and dividend, and works out how your investments performed. Thallo tracks your whole net worth, meaning every account you own and owe, including a flat or a mortgage, with one balance per account in its own currency.
If you want to know how each stock did after dividends and currency, or you need figures for a tax return, Sharesight is the better tool. If you want a total that includes everything you own, Thallo is the better fit, and you can use both.

Your whole net worth in Thallo
Thallo sorts everything into four categories: Liquid; Illiquid, trackable (such as a pension someone else reports); Illiquid, estimated (your car or flat, marked ≈); and Debt. From those it works out your net worth, your liquid net worth and two ratios.
For example, with GBP 42,300 at a broker, a flat you put at ≈ GBP 310,000 and a GBP 190,000 mortgage, Thallo shows a net worth of GBP 162,300. Your liquid assets are GBP 42,300, which is 12% of everything you own, and your debt comes to 54% of your assets. (Illustrative numbers.)
If you also have a pension in Australia, What moved shows how much of each change came from the exchange rate. Say an AUD 80,000 pension doesn't change while the pound strengthens from AUD 2.00 to AUD 2.05. The pension is then worth about GBP 976 less, and Thallo labels that as currency effect. (Illustrative numbers.)
How each one tracks investments
Sharesight needs every holding and every trade, whether you type them in, forward broker emails, or pull them from a connected broker. From there it works out returns per holding, with prices from over 60 exchanges.
In Thallo a brokerage account is one number. You type in the total, which takes about a minute per account, and you don't get the per-stock detail.
What Sharesight does well
Sharesight brings in dividends automatically and keeps sold securities, and its performance report shows how much of a return came from capital gains, dividends and currency. A UK investor holding US shares can see what the dollar did to them.
The UK pricing page says paid plans include tax reports, with more tax planning on Standard and Premium. Its UK help centre adds that the Capital Gains Tax report isn't available for UK users yet. Thallo doesn't do any tax calculations.
There's a free plan for up to 10 holdings, and a free mobile app. You can add property, cash and crypto as well, but the reports are about portfolio returns.
Using both
If you already use Sharesight, keep it for the portfolio and add its value to Thallo as one brokerage account. To bring in your history, download the net worth spreadsheet template and add a row for each account with its currency, using the Sharesight portfolio's value at each month-end. Add your cash, pension, property and loans, then import the file after signing up. Thallo reads the file in your browser without uploading it, and only the accounts and balances you confirm are saved.
